Steps to Protect Motor Cycle or Bike Hijack in Dhaka

Few Simple Steps Can Protect Motor Cycle or Motor Bike being Hijacked in Dhaka City or any area in Bangladesh.

In our Dhaka City, Motor Cycle Hijacking is becoming very common issue. I heard a lot of motorbike hijacking story in Dhaka City in last 2 years. See my own Experience of motorbike hijacking. I am that much good motorbike rider that a group of 6 or 7 person with 3 or 2 Motor Cycle will not able to stop me, even will not able to touch me to Hijack my Motor Bike (Insha'Allah). But when it's come with vehicles like Car or Micro buses even a luxurious Jeep or other kind of light vehicle, this is very default to protect.

My personal advice to ALL of my friends and others, who likes to or have to ride motor bike, specially at night time must keep an extra eye on movement of others vehicle around them. If you see anyone or any vehicle ahead wanting to stop you or want to slow down your speed, DON'T STOP, just pass through the trap as soon as possible. If you lucky enough a ‘U’ turn will help you to pass the trap. Then stop near any Check Post of Police or any other Law Enforcement Agencies and describe the officer what has happen. Don't go to describe anything to officer in duty, if you are not confident enough about the incident happen was a Hijack motive.

Same thing apply for not only the vehicle ahead; any vehicle, person, group of peoples around may do the thing I describe above. Also do not think everyone is hijacker, use your common sense to understand the situation and do the needful. I don't want to hear anything like my Motor Bike Hijacked issue any more.

Have a good ride wishing a wonderful riding experience.

If you have any idea or experienced a hijacking of your bike, you may share it on comments section.

My Bajaj Discovery Bike Hijacked !!!

I lost my own Bajaj Discovery 125cc Bike, which I bought just about 4 month ago on a Hijack Incident on 16th May 2008 at around 00:31 Hour BDT on way back to home. I informed patrol police in duty on location within 3 minute of lost and requested him to declare a ‘Hit and Run’ on his radio network. But Instead of announcing it, he was asking me too much questions, like where it happen, how it happen, why don’t my dress have no evidence of torn or mud etc etc wasting more then 30 minute.

If he declare the ‘Hit and Run’ Condition over his radio handset on time, any of active check post around the city could catch them easily. Petrol Police Officer advice me to go local police station and file a case about the incident on that time!!! And result is still Bangladesh Police haven’t got a clue about the gang who took it and rush away. They Hijacker team were in two group of 6 to 8 person in 1 white private car and another private vehicle I failed to recognize.

Good News is, Last month I Bought another Black Bajaj Pulsar DTSi, with Digital Speedo Meter, Digital Fuel Gauge and two Digital Trip Meters. It took around 165k from my own pocket. But my new Pulsar really ROCKS…

Now let the Hijacker Gang Come Again to get an Hidden Surprise with my New Pulsar DTSi. You know the GPS right ?

AS number change could affect Internet routing from 1 January 2009

AS number change could affect Internet routing from 1 January 2009

________________________________________________________________________

AS number change could affect Internet routing from 1 January 2009
________________________________________________________________________

Manufacturers urged to upgrade routers and network management
software to support the use of four-byte Autonomous System numbers
by 1 January 2009.

Regional Internet Registries (RIRs), including Asia Pacific Network
Information Centre (APNIC
), have warned that routers and network
management software should be upgraded ahead of the increased
distribution of four-byte (also known as 32-bit) Autonomous System (AS)
numbers.

AS numbers are a vital part of the Internet's core routing system, the
Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). With existing two-byte AS numbers
predicted to run out in early 2011, RIRs will issue four-byte AS numbers
by default (unless otherwise specifically requested) beginning 1 January
2009, as the next phase of a transition from two- to four-byte numbers.
Following a globally coordinated policy, RIRs began allocating four-byte
AS numbers by request only in January 2007; January 2009 marks the
transition to allocating four-byte AS numbers by default.

Without timely support from vendors, network operators risk having
routers and network administration systems that won't accept the
expanded four-byte number format. As such, the RIRs urge operators to
verify their vendors' routers will support four-byte AS numbers.

Geoff Huston, Chief Scientist at APNIC, expressed severe concerns over
failure to prepare for four-byte AS numbers: "AS numbers are often used
to identify external relationships, set routing attributes, and manage
traffic. Learning from our current experiences with IPv6 preparation
issues, Internet engineers designed four-byte AS numbers to be backward
compatible with much of the installed network infrastructure. But new
entrants and networks that are expanding or merging will need new AS
numbers and as of 1 January 2009 these will be, by default, four-byte AS
numbers. If router software and support systems in critical parts of the
Internet's infrastructure aren't upgraded by January, we'll encounter
some significant network routing problems. We're extremely concerned
that a lot of routers and network management software out there cannot
and will not be able to recognize four-byte AS numbers".

An Autonomous System (AS) is a collection of networks, or routers,
administered as a group sharing a common set of routing policies, each
defined with a unique number, or AS number. Massive Internet growth has
depleted the existing pool of two-byte AS numbers (65,536 numbers in
total). As a result, engineers have expanded the AS number space from
two bytes to four-bytes, to include over 4 billion AS numbers. Some
routers do not currently support the use of four-byte AS numbers.

To help vendors understand what they need to do to provide four-byte AS
number support and to help network operators find products that support
four-byte AS numbers, APNIC has set up a special website at:

http://wiki.icons.apnic.net/display/ASN/Home

Yours sincerely

Me, Ahamed Bauani is in bed rest due to sickness

At least this happens! I am now in complete bed rest. My consulting doctor advice me to take at least month long TOTAL bed rest. You, my friends already know that I am having some problem on my both leg. It has some kind of infection due to repeated incidence over last few months. Result is the bed rest.

Anyway, thank you for your interest about my physical condition. I am now in way of good progress. Please pray for me for my early recovery.

During this physical rest time, I am now working for some project, which was dream of my for a Looooong time. Wish me luck.

Mean time, until I return to my daily normal duty, if you need my assistance, SMS me on +880-1818-BAUANI (228264).

That’s all for today. See you all very soon.

Thank you

Ahamed Bauani
