Internet Services Recovering Around The World After Undersea Cable Cut

Internet services in Egypt and Around the World are gradually recovering after a 'Undersea Cable Cut' on Mediterranean Sea which carry about 70% of Telecommunication and Internet Data Traffic between Europe and Asia.

Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said 80 percent of Internet services are recovering, the state MENA news agency reported.

After a undersea cable damage, A ship carrying a submarine repair robot was on its way to the site between Sicily and Tunisia on Saturday, with work expected to take until the end of the year, a spokesman for ship owner and telecoms operator France Telecom said.

The undersea cables, owned by different consortium's including France Telecom, were damaged between 0728 GMT and 0806 GMT on Friday. A fourth minor cable linking Malta and Italy may also have been affected, the spokesman said.

"There are two theories: either the anchor of a ship, which could have displaced them ... or an earthquake. We think it's the first theory," spokesman Louis-Michel Aymard said. Reports reuters.com

Due to this damage Bangladeshi Internet User along with millions around the world suffered a large-scale Internet disruption. Overseas telephone call was having too much congestion and Internet user were luckily to have connection to Europe and US Hosted Services. Meanwhile Google Email Service Gmail and part of Google Search was available in Asia via their SG and HK data centers.

At this moment we can see a backup route of BTTB and Mango Telecom, the operator of only submarine cable network via SEA-ME-WE-4 is passing there traffic through Singapore Telecoms Network Operation Center in Singapore. End user is now luckily to have problem accessing normal Internet access.
